Overview
Water literacy – Water literacy is the knowledge of water and how it is managed, and how human actions affect water. It also includes understanding the environmental and human dimensions of water systems.
Water literacy at this age includes; the importance of water conservation, the urban water cycle, where your tap water comes from, and a basic understanding that water is cleaned (treated) before it is safe for drinking.
The purpose of our Water Guardians program is to increase general water literacy in Tasmania, reinforced with a teacher guide that is linked to the Australian curriculum.
From content to illustrations, this program is all about water in the Tasmanian context. Enjoy!
